The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens is a telephoto prime bringing exceptional image quality in a popular focal length to the Nikon Z series.
The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens takes full advantage of the larger mount found in the Nikon Z-Series. Along with the painterly Plena producing edge-to-edge clarity and the 11 rounded diaphragm blades produce spectacular bokeh results across the entire frame in portraiture, still life photography, and cinematic video.
Innovative, Z-Series Optical Design
The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens is designed around the larger diameter of the Z-Mount, allowing the maximum amount of light to enter through the lens with an 82mm filter thread. Also, the larger rear element enables a leap in peripheral illumination offering extreme brightness to the edges of the frame. Largely reducing vignetting, the clear path of light through the lens creates minimal refractions that produce exquisite and regular round bokeh.
Notable image clarity is benefited by the optical design, same as with the bokeh effects, the lens also achieves good results across the entire frame. A short-wavelength refractive front element, an aspherical element, and four extra-low dispersion elements assist in reducing colour bleeding, fringing, and flare. In strong lighting and backlit conditions, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coats work against both axial and lateral chromatic aberrations to prevent ghosting, reflections, and flare to realize improved contrast and clarity.
Fast, Accurate Autofocus
Employing the Nikon Multi-Focus system, this lens incorporates two separate autofocus drive units along with dual STM stepping motors which deliver fast, accurate, quiet, and smooth autofocus performance throughout, making it ideal for both video and still applications.
Additionally, the programmable linear focus ring allows for manual focus with smooth rotation in either direction.
Optimized for Cinematic Video
This lens was designed around the needs and wants of cinematographers, the lens' popular focal length lends itself to background separation and arms-length intimacy.
Furthermore, the Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens offers smooth aperture transitions and natural shifts between focus positions. Elevating every aspect of your imagery, Nikon has combined the Multi System Focus autofocus, on-lens manual focus options, and all the video capture modes throughout the Z System.
Body, Handling, and Ergonomics
The Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens's careful design does not stop at the supreme image quality. The optical design is a direct result of the all-metal design creating a lighter weight along with an 82mm filter thread.
With a clickless control ring that can be customised to adjust the aperture, ISO, and exposure. You will also find an easy-to-reach assignable Fn button.
Furthermore, the Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena Lens features a dust- and water-resistant design, making it ideal to be used in inclement weather conditions.
