Nikon D810: New Features & Video Roundup

Meet the impressive new Nikon D810 DSLR: All the information, photos, videos, and pre-order details.

Meet the new Nikon D810 DSLR, the successor to Nikon's popular high-megapixel compact full frame camera, the Nikon D800.

What's New?

On the outside, it doesn't look like much has changed, but don't be fooled - Nikon has been busy!

The Nikon D810 replaces both the Nikon D800 and Nikon D800E models, with the optical low pass filter, or OLPF, now completely removed, allowing for sharper images at the acceptable risk of increased moire. It can now also shoot at full HD 1080/60p, which is usually reserved for professional video cameras - great news for the videographers - and also shoots stills at 5 fps, versus the 4 fps of the predecessors.

While the resolution stays the same, Nikon says the 36.3 megapixel full frame sensor is a brand new unit, with both the upper and lower ISO limits expanded to 32-51,200. The 51-point autofocus system from the Nikon D4S also makes a welcome appearance, complete with Group Area AF.

Other changes include an electronic first curtain shutter, and a redesigned mirror mechanism for decreased vibration and a higher resolution display.
