We are proud to announce that the Orms X Canon: Let Us Move You Photographic Competition has been a resounding success. Our annual photographic exhibition competition, now in its fourth year, was designed to support our thriving creative community, provide them with a platform to share their photographic works with the world, and win incredible prizes to help them grow their photographic practice and propel their creative careers. For the 2023 iteration of our exclusive photographic exhibition competition, we wanted to up the stakes and make the competition bigger than ever before. This year, we offered entrants the opportunity to win prizes worth R100 000 from Canon, Orms, Orms Print Room, and Orms Cape Town School of Photography, and the chance to showcase their work on the iconic Sea Point Promenade.
This year's theme revolved around the exploration of movement and motion. We received a staggering 4,000+ entries for the competition, marking the highest number of submissions in the history of our exhibition competition. Each entry underwent rigorous evaluation by an esteemed panel of judges, featuring Canon Product Marketing Manager Roger Machin, Orms Managing Director Jason Ormrod, renowned sports photographer Roger Sedres, and SJ Artists Founder Shani Judes.
